Welcome 2013!
We've all been asked the infamous question, "What is your New Years Resolution?" For some, resolutions mean sincere change, hard work and more. However, for some the very thought of them is similar to the sound of nails on a chalkboard. We have to ask our ourselves, why? Are we scared of change or are we scared of the possibility that we could fail at our goal? The key to achieving any goal is starting small by writing down an achievable goal and persistence! No matter how many small "baby steps" you take every day, each day you grow closer to a total breakthrough!
I hear many people say, "If I could just lose 10 lbs I could finally be happy." Most of the time I find myself thinking, well what steps are you willing to take to lose the 10 lbs and further why aren't you happy as you are right now. Whether or not the person knows it or not, they WANT change, they want to embrace a new way of life. So, my goal in writing this blog is to write about goals, resolutions and tips on how World of Wellness can help you obtain your goals for 2013.
1. Write your Goal down!
I have seen more success with friends, family and work out partners that are willing to write a goal down.
EX:
* I want to lose weight to fit in my old "skinny jeans."
* I want to quit smoking.
* I want to feel 5 years younger.
I suggest either buying a small cork-board or simply taking a piece of paper, cutting it into 4 parts and writing YOUR goal down on each of the 4 pieces of paper. Now, here is where the key is! Place one piece of the paper by your bed so that each night when you go to sleep and each morning you wake up you look at your goal. Don't forget to read it out loud! (Even if it feels funny, statistics show someone who repeats a goal everyday will have a higher success rate by reading a goal out loud). Secondly, place the second quarter of paper on your bathroom mirror so that each time you walk in you see your goal. The most successful individuals read a written goal down out loud multiple times a day. Take the third piece of paper and put in in your car,so that each time you're driving somewhere you can take time to think about your goal and the positive ways you will achieve it. Re-affirm the goal as many times a day as possible! Finally, take the fourth piece of paper and take it to work with you. Once co-workers, friends and family know you have set a goal, your success rate will skyrocket!
2. Be willing to be honest with yourself.
As my Mom once told me, "If hard work were easy, then everyone would do it!" So true! Goals aren't always easy to obtain, however that's where the beauty lays. Each day you grow closer to your goal, you will feel better and proud that you're choosing to work for what you want!
3. To be healthy, you have to live a healthy lifestyle.
Yes, exercise and eating properly are important! World of Wellness tailors nutritional plans to patients looking to look and feel better in 2013! In today's society junk food is accepted as a "normality." If you're wondering why you may feel fatigued or tired in the middle of the day, you may want to consider that double cheeseburger, fries and a coke that you had earlier. Remember what Mom says? "You are what you eat!"
5. Reward yourself with all Goals.
Let 2013 be the year you obtain your wellness goals. Each time you make it a step closer to one of your small benchmarks, celebrate! (Make sure this is something that isn't jeopardizing your success). No matter what your goal is, make it fun and start small.
2013 will be the year when you achieve steady, sustainable growth in all aspects of your life. Pick up the phone today and see how we can help you TODAY!
